The Moueix name is Bordeaux Right Bank royalty and there is renewed excitement around Château Bélair-Monange since the family’s arrival at this historic St-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé property in 2008. Extensive renovations in the vineyards and cellars have been undertaken at the estate, which lies at the highest point of St-Emilion’s famous limestone plateau.

Château La Fleur-Pétrus, meanwhile, represents one of the most renowned vineyards of Pomerol. In the Moueix stable since 1950, its remarkable wines are known for their balance of structure, elegance and generosity.

Edouard Moueix, general manager of Vignobles Jean-Pierre Moueix, will lead a tasting of Bélair-Monange and La Fleur-Pétrus wines to help guests to compare the influence of gravel soils in Pomerol and limestone in St-Emilion. Wines will include highly rated Bordeaux vintages, such as 2018, 2016 and 2010, as well as La Fleur-Pétrus 1998.

This promises to be a fascinating tasting that illuminates the signature styles of Bordeaux’s Right Bank.
