Toby Amphlett’s career in wine began in Bordeaux where, aged 18, his passion for wine was ignited while working at Château Giscours. On his return to the UK, he studied at Plumpton College, gaining a BA in wine business and complementing his studies at the Wine & Spirits Education Trust and taking on the role of student brand ambassador for Penfolds. Post-graduation, Toby became a sought-after wine judge and consultant, working with prominent chefs, sommeliers and wine merchants in the UK, Europe and beyond. He is recognised as a foremost industry expert.

Toby has come full circle and re-joined the Penfolds team. He now holds the prestigious position of one of the select few Winemaking Ambassadors for Penfolds International.
