DECANTER PRESENTS... Journey's End
The Bordeaux legacy in Stellenbosch
Decanter invites you to an exclusive tasting experience uncovering the evolution of one of Stellenbosch’s most celebrated Bordeaux-style blends – step into a world where tradition meets innovation.
Embark on a curated tasting experience that showcases the evolution of one of the most celebrated Bordeaux-style blends to come out of Stellenbosch. We begin with Ad Infinitum, Journey’s End’s acclaimed white blend, which, in its inaugural 2022 release, earned a 5-star rating from South Africa's prestigious Platter's Wine Guide – a testament to its purity, balance and unique expression of our terroir.
Our journey continues with the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, leading into a vertical tasting of The Cape Doctor, highlighting the evolution of these exceptional vineyard blocks. Named after the powerful wind that shapes our vineyards, the Cape Doctor embodies the long hang times, structured elegance and complexity that define Stellenbosch’s finest Bordeaux-style blends.

THE WINES
THE HOSTS
Michael Dawson
Winemaker, Journey's End
French Huguenots recognised the viticultural promise of this land centuries ago, and Journey’s End winemaker Mike Dawson continues to refine their legacy – crafting wines from ancient, 150-million-year-old soils that speak of place and time.
Journey’s End strives to work in harmony with nature, farming regeneratively and off-grid to craft wines of depth, longevity and character.
As their motto goes, ‘The end is simply the beginning’ – experience a journey through time and terroir, where Stellenbosch’s ancient soils and masterful winemaking converge to create Bordeaux-style blends that rival their heritage.
