This unique tasting will guide you through eight long-aged Cavas de Guarda Superior (the appellation's top quality tier), showcasing the quality and craftsmanship behind each bottle.
Led by Anne McHale MW and co-hosted by Ines Salpico, Decanter's Spain Editor, the session will delve into the key themes of long ageing, traceability and sustainability, with a focus on organic-certified wines.
This event offers a unique opportunity to explore the stylistic and sustainability evolution of Cava in an intimate and informative setting, through exclusive cuvées of Cava de Guarda Superior.

Anne McHale is an award-winning Master of Wine and consultant based in London. Originally from Belfast, she graduated with First Class Honours in French and Classics from Christ’s College, Cambridge. With over a decade in the wine trade, including roles at Berry Bros. & Rudd, Anne became a Master of Wine in 2013, earning several prestigious awards.
She founded her consultancy and education business in 2016. This year, Anne completed the Cava Academy, enhancing her expertise in sparkling wines. Her commitment to wine education continues with plans to attend the WSET Cava Academy in 2025.
Ines Salpico

Decanter
Ines is Decanter’s regional editor for Spain, Portugal and South America. Born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal, she grew up chasing her grandfather among his vines in Ribatejo and thus her love for all things wine began. After completing her Masters Degree in Architecture, Ines worked as a project manager while writing about wine and doing cellar consulting on the side. After moving to London nine years ago, she decided to dedicate herself fully to the wine industry and joined the sommelier team at Michelin-starred Spring, Somerset House. Stints at Noble Rot and The Laughing Heart followed, while completing her WSET Diploma in Wines and Spirits.
Her work as a judge and writer eventually became her full time commitment and she joined Decanter in 2019 as wine database editor.
