‘Great wine is an accumulation of care and attention to detail.’

Such is the motto of this standout Saint-Julien Bordeaux second growth. This masterclass will be led by proprietor Bruno-Eugène Borie, who was born and brought up on this family property and has been at its helm more than 20 years.

Borie will guide guests through six vintages of Ducru-Beaucaillou, alongside two vintages of La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou and a single vintage of the newest addition to the fold, Le Petit Ducru. Ducru’s advisor Tracey Dobbin MW will be on hand to comment and help draw out the nuances of each wine. An unmissable masterclass for lovers of top-notch Bordeaux.

WINES:

BRUNO-EUGENE BORIE

Bruno-Eugène Borie was born and brought up at Ducru-Beaucaillou, the third generation of his family to steward this long-established Saint-Julien estate. He developed a passion for viticulture from an early age before going on to study economics. He began his career in wine by working with the legendary Peter Allan Sichel, wine merchant and co-owner of Château Palmer.

In 2003, at the request of his family, Bruno-Eugène assumed control of Ducru-Beaucaillou. Over more than two decades at the property’s helm, he has revitalised the vineyards and cellars and set Ducru-Beaucaillou on the path to a successful and sustainable future.
